It’s back!

Sorry, I paused the translation for this when I picked up The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System. I currently have three active projects so it’s too difficult to translate When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated into the Original Novel, too.

The good news is that I’ve found someone who wants to help with this project. Hooray! Thanks to Windyday who translated this chapter. She’s working on the next chapter, too.

If anyone else wants to join the team, you can email me at [email protected]

Thanks for reading.

Hero Union BBS manga

hero union bbs
Hero Union BBS, also known as “Hero Cooperation Union Exchange Bulletin Board” and “Yuusha Gojo Kumiai Kouryuugata Keijiban,” is a completely translated manga that I am re-reading.

It’s about a bunch of heroes, active and retired, who have their own forums (the BBS). I thought it would be lame to put forum threads in manga form but it actually works really well!

The story is complete and it’s fun to read, therefore it’s perfect. There’s not too many manga that I like as much as Hero Union BBS that is short enough for me to re-read in one sitting and yet is long enough to be satisfying.

Break the World manhua

This colored manhua (Chinese comic) is read from left to right. It’s not manga so don’t get confused. 🙂

Break the World – it’s pretty good, I like it but it’s pretty slow on action. More like random daily gaming fluff than anything. This image below is from that manhua. I like the art style.

Summary: a student tries an MMORPG and plays it with his friends. That’s pretty much it, lol! The manhua is about their in-game shenanigans.

Untranslated Novel Titles!

Question: Argh, why do scanlators like to leave titles untranslated? It’s much easier to remember an English title!

Answer: Because titles are hard!

Example: 风起苍岚 (Feng Qi Cang Lan)

The characters mean:

  • 风 – wind; news; style; custom; manner
  • 起 – to rise; to raise; to get up; to set out; to start; to appear; to launch; to initiate (action); to draft; to establish; to get (from a depot or counter); verb suffix, to start; (before place or time) starting from; classifier for occurrences or unpredictable events: case, instance; classifier for groups: batch, group
  • 苍 – dark blue; deep green; ash-gray
  • 岚 – mist; name of a mountain

So the possible titles are:

  • The wind rises from the dark blue mountain
  • A green mist rises from the wind
  • … and so forth

But, actually “Cang Lan” is a name. Therefore it’s:

The wind rises in Cang Lan

As for me, I have horrible naming sense. *sigh* I chose to translate the sect names and now I kinda regret it a bit since untranslated is easier. Thanks for reading. Here’s an image from Feng Qi Cang Lan.

I might be doing some anti-copying measures soon

bc novels
This is a fan translation by BC Novels. Thanks for supporting the translator by reading this on the BC Novels website.

I’m thinking of making some dummy texts for bots to copy. As you may or may not know, there are some websites that copy the work of translators. Therefore, we hard-working translators, who already have to do all of the work of translating and web design, have to do even more work to try to stop the people stealing our work.

This mostly involves making “dummy text” meant for the bots to read.

Alert! Alert! An absolute must-read!

hamster snake

You see that pic??? It’s a hamster and a snake!!! I can’t even!!! It’s so cute, I can’t bear it! *squeels* OMG, if you don’t read this you’re really missing out.

A Guide to Raising Your Natural Enemy <– click here for awesome BL fluffiness.

Summary:

A super adorable hamster cultivated a human form – almost. He failed his tribulation and got stuck in a human form but with hamster ears and tail. When the lightning tribulation hit him, he somehow got transmigrated into a different world.

Meanwhile, a snake beast man (a person with beast and human forms) was badly wounded by an assassination attempt. His beast core shattered which meant he got stuck in his snake form. He was in despair and wanted to die until he saw a little beastman (the hamster/human) who was totally weak and defenseless against all of the dangerous animals in the forest. Therefore, the snake decided that his new goal in life was to protect this little beastman.

The only problem was… hamsters are terrified of snakes!

Hamster: OMG, a super huge snake is going to eat me!

Ship Tease

I wonder if the original novel was full of ship teasing?

The protagonists of the original novel are two sect brothers who are veeery close to each other. I guess you could call it a bromance.

These days, authors are very much aware of fujoshis and fundanshis so they sometimes pander to these fans by doing a lot of ship teasing.

For example, Project K (the image above) has an absolute ton of ship tease. And I liked it. 😉

Release Schedule for All Projects

People have been asking about my release schedule. I release chapters whenever I finish them. I have no set schedule nor do I stock up chapters in advance. I currently have three projects:

    1. Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me
    2. When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated into the Original Novel
    3. Never Marry a Man With Two Tintins

I’m also helping out with

The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System

Having said that, I will most likely release at least one chapter a week or four times a month for Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me and When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated into the Original Novel. Those two are Xianxia so they are not easy to translate.

In particular, the writing style of Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me is the most difficult for me to understand. Therefore, although I consider it to be my main project, I can’t release it faster than that. By the way, for that project I have a translation checker and an editor. This makes releases slower since it goes through a longer process than the other two projects but the quality should be better.

Never Marry a Man With Two Tintins is much easier to translate because of the author’s simple and clear writing style. That will probably have a faster release.

In total, I will most likely be releasing something like 12+ chapters a month since I have so many projects. In case I don’t have enough time, I will prioritize Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me.

Chapter 1 – When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated into the Original Novel

I have a new project! Hooray!

When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated into the Original Novel (Project Page)

Chapter One <– click here to read it

The original novel was one of friendship between fellow sect members who grew up together. They became bosom buddies who weathered the vicissitudes of life together until they finally reached the peak of the cultivation world, becoming legends.

However, “rotten women” (fujoshis *cough*) see romance everywhere, even between two straight men who are just close friends. A yaoi fanfiction writer created an H story in which the cold, stolid Zhangsun Zijun became a beastly seme and the hot-tempered, kind Yi Xichen became a frail uke whose flower everyone wanted to pluck.

What happens when the OOC protagonist of a yaoi fanfiction is transmigrated into the original novel?
