Chapter 11 – When a Fanfic Protagonist Transmigrated

Peerless Alchemist

Whenever I start reading a manga, manhua, or manhwa with an “awesome, powerful” female, I always have this niggling doubt in the back of my mind about whether or not she really is awesome… or just fake awesome.

The problem is that some authors simply can’t bear to write a really good female character. She always has to be weaker than the male characters, which is a shame.

For example, take a look at the two covers below.

Typical shoujo romance cover.
A cover with a cool female character.

Thankfully, Peerless Alchemist does actually have a strong female character! It’s currently one of my favorites.

  1. Thanks for the rec. I’m tried of nivels where the female mc is cool and smart but suddenly becomes stupid when the mc is around. I have never seen a story where the mc is stronger than her ml physically or cultivation. Like dudes get stories where they are the best why can’t we. So yhanks for the rec I’ll read it .

    1. It’s the same one, just different covers – Peerless Alchemist (Manhua Title) aka Unprecedented Pill Refiner: Entitled Ninth Young Lady (Novel Title).

  2. Love-U-Translator-san!

True,to me it’s either they are too op (no weaknesses in either personality or power) or too weak it is annoying. And sometimes she is op but then enters male lead and suddenly is a weak pampered delicate girl -.-

I’d like it if the couple make up for each other’s weaknesses and depend on each other. If you want examples maybe something like
The rising of the shield hero (the anime is super good, i dont know about the manga or the novel)
although it is shounen, the male and female lead are adorable and it is amazing how they fight together harmoniously.
