The Coronavirus and Me
You know there’s this virus that’s been going around? Yeah, it got me! Actually, it wasn’t just me. It was my whole family.
We don’t know if it was actually COVID 19 since we didn’t get tested, but it was quite unlike any illness we’ve had before. There are five people in our family and whenever one person gets sick, the others can normally avoid getting infected by simply avoiding the sick person, but this time was strange. Since we suspected it was COVID-19, we wore masks and washed our hands frequently. None of that worked, and we all got sick.
The reason why we think it’s the Coronavirus is it spread to all of us. That’s never happened to us in the past with infectious diseases like flu, colds, and even pneumonia. *sigh* I guess this virus is just extremely contagious.
One by one, we started feeling tired. Then there was a fever that lasted for a few hours along with a general feeling of malaise. The next day, we got nasal congestion followed by a cough.
By the way, all of us are vaccinated. I was hoping that the vaccine would stop us from getting sick, but either it wasn’t COVID-19, or we all had a breakthrough infection. Who knows? The important thing is that we all survived.

Hi! I suspect the same for us. Hung out with my brother-in-law, hubbie was down the next day with a never ending fever, exhaustion, shifting migraine, heavy chest. Thought it was a bad flu initially, but I read the room. I tended to him, ordered supplies via delivery for my inevitable sickness. I got it the next day, then came the cough and white phlegm. We didn’t get tested either. Lasted 3 weeks. First 2 were the worst. My hands, back and back of my thighs were even sore. Fingers tingled. Stuffy nose. Excessive heart rate & thirst, was light headed. Irregular heart beat. Bottled water tasted like metal & was bitter to me. Hubbie said it tasted salty to him. Did you get that? It was weird.
Oh, are you two okay now? I didn’t get any taste symptoms but there were days when everything smelled like smoke.
