TRAPDHTBITL Chapter 2.1

Here it is! The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love 2.1

If anyone knows what the “DNF” means, I beg you to leave a comment and let me know! I’ve been really puzzled by it.

Thank you to all who left comments. This novel is 95 chapters long. The two of us who are translating are readerz and smr85 from NU forum. Both of have read the entire story and loved it. We are excited about this project and, as Ye Zhi Qiu would say, “never project eunuch” – this project won’t be left unfinished.

By the way, we need an editor. At the moment we have some volunteer beta readers and we edit each other’s work but it would be nice to find another person to help out.

Me when I read a great novel:

Du Ze running
Du Ze literally running to his computer to read the novel

Du Ze’s face tends not to show much emotion but his actions speak for themselves. He’s actually a very passionate person, don’t you think so?

Thank you both for translating <3
This seems like a really good novel, I'm looking forward to the development of the story ^^

  2. According to baidu, DNF is Chinese abbreviation for Dungeon & Fighter, a South Korean mmorpg. It’s English name is Dungeon Fighter Online, so if you want, you can read up on its wiki.

    Thanks for translating!

    1. Hmm, there isn’t a reply button for your comment, so I guess I’ll have to reply to my own.

How does it not apply here? DNF is pretty obviously referring to an online game.

In the raws, it says: 等杜泽刷完DNF的每日任务后,他再次点开了网页。
Which in context, is essentially: After Du Ze completed the daily tasks on Dungeons & Fighter/Dungeon Fighter Online, he once again opened the novel’s site.

In games, there’s always things that you do to get freebies/rewards that reset daily. It’s an incentive to get people to play the game every day. This kind of thing shows up a lot, and if you read other novels that have online gaming, the terminology is identical to what’s used here. Only difference is the game’s name, aka DNF.

I honestly don’t see any other way of interpreting this sentence, and I greatly disagree with “digital noise filter” as a translation because that literally doesn’t make sense? But if you think I’m wrong, I’m always open to corrections that can increase my Chinese proficiency.

    2. Thanks for the reply. I thought DNF might be for his hearing aid. It hasn’t appeared yet in the story but it’s an important part later on. If it really is Dungeon Fighter Online then I am not too worried since that would just be background info. If it was for his hearing aid it might be a plot point but if its just a game… no prob. I edited the note to Dungeon Fighter Online.

  3. so far i like this story, saw the raw and it looks awsome! thanks for translating it 🙂 look forward for new updates !
