- This chapter is by Reika (me).
- “Liu Qingge! The hatchet man has arrived!” – 打手 (dǎ shǒu) meaning “goon; hired roughneck; bully; ruffian.” I thought this was weird but that’s what the raw said. I guess it’s because LQG is the one they send when they need to bully the other sects… since some of the other sects are full of idiots. I almost wanted to change it to “The War God has arrived” but that would change the original too much.
- “Luo Binghe, once again there’s a fire in your backyard.” – 后院起火 (hòu yuàn qǐ huǒ) a fire in one’s backyard; conflict close to home. I think Shen Qingqiu is talking about Luo Binghe’s so-called “harem members” causing trouble again.
- “The two of them were childhood playmates who became childhood sweethearts!” – 青梅竹马 (qīng méi zhú mǎ) lit. “green plums and hobby-horse” meaning childhood sweethearts. 两小无猜 (liǎng xiǎo wú cāi) innocent playmates.
- “In the past, Qing Jing Peak’s disciples were always obedient and submissive in front of him.” –
唯唯诺诺 (wěi wěi nuò nuò) literally “to be a yes-man.”

- 冤家路窄 (yuān jiā lù zhǎi) – literally “enemies on a narrow road” meaning inevitable clash between opposing factions
- The word used here is actually 霸气 (bà qì) which is literally “domineering” but it sounded weird so I used a synonym that I think sounds cooler.
- 胡子 mustache; goatee
- Same as before – 冤家路窄 (yuān jiā lù zhǎi) – literally “enemies on a narrow road” meaning inevitable clash between opposing factions
- 家常便饭 (jiā cháng biàn fàn) – literally “simple home-style meal.” In other words, it’s a common occurrence; nothing out of the ordinary
This makes sense in the previous chapter’s comments but how long is original story if there are several 500 chapter side quests? How long was the story on going? 20 years?

I actually do prefer to use Shixiong but for the sake of everyone’s sanity, we are translating most of the terms used.
Regarding LQG=hatchet-man, I think that SQQ meant that in the sense that he has mentally assigned LQG the role of his personal bodyguard. Remember back when SQQ first met LQG in the meditation caves and saved him, he thought that this action of his might lead to LQG coming to his defense in the future when he is in danger, especially against LBH. We also saw SQQ thinking of LQG as his bodyguard in Jinlan(?) city when he calls LQG to meet him in his room in the night after he’s done with his patrol. (The plagued city; might have gotten the name wrong.)

I would hazard in English it would be more like SQQ is saying something like the calvary has arrived.

Ohhh I loved this chapter, and Yingying and Ming Fan both went up 100 points in my book. I love that everyone’s showing off different sides to them when SQQ isn’t around. They’re so protective but also obedient to him. It’s not just LBH that SQQ has changed. Rather he’s Cang Qiong Peak’s entire treasure and they’re willing to fight tooth and nail for him. It’s really so awesome.
