Syeki’s Notes:

“An ax would suit his temperament better than the abbot’s staff.” 不该拿支法杖做方丈,应该抄对板斧做李逵 Bit of a pun here. Basically saying instead of carrying a fǎ zhàng (staff) like a fāngzhàng (Buddhist abbot), Wu Wang should copy Li Kui (a rather berserk character who wields his axes indiscriminately) and carry an ax instead.

法杖 (Fǎ zhàng) – staff (like what the monk Tang Sanzang in Journey to the West carries, probably)

方丈 (Fāngzhàng) – abbot

李逵 (Lǐkuí) – Li Kui is a fictional character in Water Margin, one of the Four Great Classical Novels in Chinese literature. The character is a tough melee fighter who uses a pair of axes in battle and often charges ahead of his men. Can be somewhat indiscriminate when he goes on a rampage, with innocents sometimes getting killed.

  1. Another stupid old bitch Wu wang, he was Su She’s counterpart (from mdzs) here in svsss. Excessively annoying

    1. Yeah, it’s always idiots like Wu Yang and Su she who always yap like they know everything and twist the opinion of people.. And these idiots always turn out to be working for the villain.

  2. SQQ never say anything when he need to talk and when he talk it’s always ambigous, never clear explanation. It’s really like it’s on purpose. He was there to help LBH but not once did he interject and at least try to correct this freaking rude abbot. I don’t know but here i’m truly angry at SQQ.
He is so much more please by his own thoughts that doing the mission here…

    1. SQQ doesn’t seem to think that LBH is a human. He still thinks that he’s in a novel and everyone else are just fictional characters.

It’s been so long but SQQ’s character development is still non existent. I’m on the verge of dropping this novel.

    2. LMAO you two, does “treading carefully” say anything to you? Apparently not. Please, use your comprehension skills and read between the lines. If you can’t do that, this novel is probably not for you. SQQ’s characterization makes perfect sense given the circumstances, I’m sorry you can’t see that.

  3. ‘The worst monsters aren’t the ones that hide under the bed or in the closet, it’s the ones we face everyday, you and I

  4. “硬打”means to hit(here, it means to suppress other immortals present in Zhaohua Temple)(“打“) forcefully(“硬”). Basically here it means that SQQ and LBH can’t convince the people there by force(like what is expected of LBH, since he is so powerful and is almost always able to beat others). It is sort of like Chinese slang, we use it everday.

    1. Thank you. I’ve now added the line “Thus, it was impossible to supress the other cultivators by force” for clarity. I think that is what works here.

  5. After falling in Liushen Pit I abandoned this novel… But I really want to know how it ends, and SQQ deserves all my love, even If I don’t like LBH as his partner anymore. so here I am again to read the rest.

Learning about his parents that way must be really Hard, poor LBH.

    Thanks for the chapter!

    1. Honestly, I love LBH because I pay quite a lot of attention to his backstory and mindset. Most of his actions were made because of the XinMo sword. I’m not going to spoil the novel, but here’s something. Luo Binghe is much more gentle and caring without the XinMo sword possessing him. Liushen is great too, but here’s just a heads-up. Plus, Binghe has been going thru so much, and with all the trauma he’s suffered, he’s definitely gonna be protective of SQQ. XinMo increases his negative feelings, like anger and sadness, when it’s around LBH. It’s even stated that LBH doesn’t have great control over XinMo. Also keep in kinda that XinMo’s name means “heart devil sword”, which is exactly what it implies. It messed with the heart and emotions

  6. “[enf_note]硬打 yìngdǎ – not sure what this means in this context. Suggestions?[/efn_note] ”
This note is not fomatting correctly for me.

    Thanks for the chapter!

  7. I don’t think we should believe the account of that old palace master. He seemed pretty demented and obsessed with Su Xiyan. I think he may have attempted something and is using this story as a cover-up.

Why would she need to run away if she was attempting abortion? It’s not like she would’ve been shamed for choosing abortion. If anything, I think she would’ve been pressured to do it.

It would make more sense if she did it to protect Luo Binghe since everyone clearly hates him. If she truly cared about Luo Binghe, there would be no way that she could’ve stayed with how much everyone around her hated demons.

  8. Oh noooo… I’ve caught up with the update.. it’s the end of binge reading 😭😭
Well might as well sit nicely and cultivate on my patience level 😝😝

This chapter left me a bit speechless at how humans and demons are not that different in their hypocrisy and malicious intents *sigh* Hopefully Shizun will quickly find a way to save his poor disciple from being slaughtered in public and restored his good image. Shizun is supposed to be really smart, right? 🤔

Thank you for continuing/ arranging the translation of this novel despite rl. you’re an angel😘
Hope everything goes well with ur mum’s surgery preparations

  9. My pittiful child, Lou Binghe. Even without your father and mother your shizun will still love and cherish you. F*** that old palace mater bastard, he is just a digusting pervert who convet his own discipline. How dare he talk bad about our baby Binghe! If I could just slash him like a mincemeat and burnt him with inferno, my heart would be at peace. My dear, dear Binghe please don’t cry, I’m sure your beloved Shizun will protect you even when the world turn against you

  10. Thank you for yet again a great update. I hope your situation will get better soon. Many wishes to hope for the well-being of your mother.

  11. First of all, I hope everything thing goes well with your mother and your family. My best wishes to her, i hope she is healthy soon.

Thank you very much for your hard work. I really love this novel.

  12. GOT7-IGOT7-Jacky

Forget that bastard TLJ and that horrible bitch Su Xiyan. All you need is Shizun, baby LBH! I’m ready to see some ass whooping next chap

  13. starphirebloom

Thanks for the chapter!🥰 Shizun must protect LBH!!😭 aww poor LBH having to put up with all those bad comments (and finding out about his true origins😞) 😅 at least it’s not as stressful as when SQQ had to deal with all those accusations left and right in chapter 35-36😫 like geez, lol I was getting stressed that the mc SQQ was getting stressed/paranoid in those chapters😅😂 that’s just another reason why this novel is so well written that the reader feels the character’s emotions too! 🥰I look forward to every chapter! Thank you and wish you all the best blessings!😁

  14. Oh gosh I can’t wait to know what’s going to happen from now on ToT Thank you for the translation even though you are so busy ! I hope everything go well with your mother <3

  15. You know the world is fucked when the “good guys” have worse morals than the “bad guys.” At least LBH has Shizun!!! Also feeling a little salty over YQY like dude, was it necessary to call them out like that? Thanks for the chapter!

  16. All he needs is Shizun. Also, have determined that righteous sect cultivation leaders are pretty much the worst. Like GDC all over.

Thanks for the great translation ♥️

  17. Ugh. That one person that always turns deaf ears and raises his voice to cut people’s speech in a discussion.

Thank you for the chapter! Best wishes for your mom’s surgery ❤

  18. God, it must be so harsh for LBH to hear all those foul words… 🙁 Come on, Shizun, safe the day 😀

  19. I don’t think that’s everything for the story of how LB was conceived, until we hear from all parts of it, we can’t make a judgement, besides those old fools “righteous” cultivators they are just biased, so they won’t hear anything besides the things they wanna hear.

So at this point my heart is very sad for LB and I don’t really care if he goes and kill all of that piece of shit.

  20. Thank you so much for the update, you must be extremely busy!!, and don’t worry everything will be ok with your mommy

  21. Ok. This chapter left my blood boiling in anger to the extreme. Talk of unreasonableness. That Wu Wang b**** seems to have an ulterior motive similar to that sick b******* Leader of HuanHua Palace. Bunch of hypocrites with hearts blacker than Tianlan-Jun.

  22. Those 3 nuns reaction… lol
Either a certain walking vinegar jar will finally actually have a reason to get possesive or… they r fujoshi fans of a certain song and their imaginations r running wild right now…
    Either way would be hilarious!

Thank you for the chapter & hope everything works out well with the operation

  23. XD The protagonist’s halo comes with the pesky ball ‘n’ chain of conflict 😛 Also, I understand keeping and defining some slang that has no real equivalent in English, such as the concept of “moe/meng” (although “adorable” would work in its most literal sense; whatever ^^;), but couldn’t “ky” just be translated as “clueless,” “oblivious,” or “ignorant”?

  24. FUCKKKKKK I LOVE YOUUUUUU thank you for translatiing!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhh poor lbh this is so sad he wasn’t a wanted child?????? T____________T POOR BABYYYYYYYYYYY look at liu qingge snitching him out to yqy BETRAYED!!!!!!!!! jk you’re perect lqg i love and support u, THANK YOU FOR TRANSLATINGGGGGGGGG

  25. If LBH continues on with what he did in the original plot, he might be proclaimed as trying to stage an incident. 🙁 Ughhhh how does sqq fix this omg

  26. Those comments are just heartless.
Thank goodness none of them are the main villain.
Just some canon fodder for the story.
I hope all the misunderstanding will come clear at the end.
    Thanks for the update.

  27. AHHHHHH it’s all messed up! sqq you gotta salvage this somehow TvT i also never expected yqy to call out shizun in that way, it seems so harsh. everything’s gone to the dogs, rip in peace plan A. thank you for the hard work, and i hope everything goes well with the operation!
