Demon form

Remember what the author said about demons in chapter 1? “The Demons gave away their mercy, received destruction.” As Du Ze said, the demons have the strongest individual fighting power. This is probably because they have the “destruction” skill.

Demons have bat-like wings and horns. They can fly and they are super OP! They don’t have a forked tail, though.

I would have thought the demon form would have tattoos and piercings but I guess that is not a thing in the novel. It seems like their favored accessory is a sharp weapon and blood …

The 72 Demon Cities

Now, here is a little bit of info about the setting. The 72 cities in the reverse side of the continent are each dedicated to a powerful demon god that is worship but the cities’ inhabitants. When Ye Zhi Qiu wrote “Mixed Blood”,  he was lazy. He just directly copied the 72 demons from the legend of the demons that King Solomon summoned and controlled.

There actually is a book that lists all 72 of them, including their names, appearance, and attributes. The Ars Goetia describes them.

So you all read the previous chapter? Yeah, I was surprised, too. When I first read that I realized that there is a reason why Du Ze almost never speaks. The poor guy has a complex about his “weird” voice. Deaf people can’t hear themselves clearly so their speech can sound strange. However, Du Ze uses his hearing aid now. His speech is probably fine but his social barrier is really high.

What did Xiu actually say?

Well, the title of that chapter is “Do not leave my line of sight.” I am pretty sure that is what Xiu said. It’s just that earlier, Xiu had tested Du Ze but our favorite heroic youth thought it was Xiu softening. Also, I really think that Du Ze is a shotacon who is weak when it comes to small, cute things.

Du Ze thought that Xiu was like a little kid pleading for mommy not to leave. But Xiu is more of a possessive master who doesn’t like it when his toy/lunch leaves.

Du Ze is weak when it comes to cute things

The silly Du Ze is weak when it come to cute little things. All Xiu has to do is look up at him with those big, amber eyes and Du Ze just caves in.

His face is impassive but inside he’s like “OMG! Cute!”

Yesterday I asked about the names of the races but it seems like most people are fine with the ones that I am using. Therefore, I decided not to change anything. Thank you for the feedback.

By the way, I am having second thoughts about the race names and their proper English translation. The author wrote the race names in English on his blog: Human, Orc, Angel, Demon, Elf, Dragonkin, Elyos and Asmodian. I changed Orc to Beastkin; Elyos to Angel; and Asmodian to Demon. Do you think I should use the author’s preferred English names?

I did initially use Orc but people preferred Beastkin. As for Elyos and Asmodian, most people have not played Aion so they wouldn’t know what those two race names mean. I think those names are actually copyrighted…

I love Du Ze (and Xiu, too)

You know what I think is the best thing about Reader and Protagonist? The main character is super funny. He works hard but keeps his sense of humor about everything.  He is very determined and smart even though he has no fighting skills. I love Du Ze a lot! I want to pick him up and cuddle him.
