Everyday the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me

Chapter 26.3 – Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Pull the Wool Over My Eyes

I’m so happy!

That manhua that I like, Miao Shou Xian Dan, has not one, but TWO cute shotas. OMG! I love it. 😀 I really enjoy reading or watching cute things.

miao shota

Oh, what’s this? A shota with red eyes?

Well, you know what sailors say? “Red sky at night, sailors’ delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning.”

I’m not yet sure whether the red eyes mean he is someone to squeal over or avoid.

miao master

It’s a (somewhat) foul-mouthed, rude shota! This one seems tsundere or something, hahahahahaha! Cute!

The Story of High School Boys Who Became Magical Girls

I recently discovered this super hilarious manga.

magical girls

I read it on its page in Mangadex since it seems the scanlator doesn’t have his own website. Mangadex tends to load slowly for me but it has no ads so I like to use it.

Red Wedding

No, not a red wedding Game of Thrones style. 🙂 Just a traditional Chinese wedding.

How hot do Chu Yu and Xie Xi look in red wedding clothes??? (Don’t know image source.)

I’m sorry for the long wait, this chapter was difficult.

Asian Hobbyist

Last chapter was published at Asian Hobbyist. Why? Uh, because I wanted to and it might help with SEO. It’s just a friendly collaboration. I’m hoping that some of their readers will take a look at this project when they see it on Asian Hobbyist.

In short, I wanted to get the extra exposure.

Chapter 24 – Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Take Care of Me

Today I have partnered with Asian Hobbyist, a friend’s website. They have a lot of stories there, for example this one (Common Sense of a Duke’s Daughter).

Click here for Chapter 24 of Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me.

The Third

Regarding the translation, do you “Third Shidi” is okay? It means the third-ranked fellow disciple under the same master. He has not been given a name. The options are:

Third Brother

Third Shidi

San Shidi

I’ve been using “Shidi” but others do use “brother” since it’s easier to understand For example, that is the term used in the manhua Wo Jia Dashi Xiong Naozi You Keng. Like this example, notice they call one of the characters “Second Brother.”

Let me know if you have any preference.

Thanks for reading.

Chapter 22 – Twin brother?!

Chapter 22 Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me <— click on the link to read it. Thanks to Kit for the donation.

Chu Yu’s twin?!

By the way, have you ever read Wo Jia Dashi Xiong Naozi You Keng? The story is almost exactly like “Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Capture Me” sometimes. Check this out!

It’s uncanny! Similarities:

  • the main character is the Da Shixiong
  • the protagonist is his Shidi
  • first panel – meditating sitting on stone on top of a cliff, just like Chu Yu
  • MC is a trans-dimensional traveler
  • MC’s background is the same as Chu Yu: both parents alive, comes from a good family, good talent, etc.
  • .. and finally, MC’s strategy is hugging the thigh of the protagonist!

Wow! What a coincidence!

Today’s Lesson: Talismans

talisman
Image from Tian Xing Yi Shi

As you can see from the image above, talismans are normally made from paper and have runes or characters written on them. Making them is an art and not just any person can create talismans. People who have been trained in the talisman-making skill can make them, give them away, or sell them since once a talisman is made, other people can use it.

They have different effects like: sealing, freezing, burning, exploding, etc. Think of it as an instant spell that a person can cast by using the talisman. They are pretty convenient since a cultivator can just pull out a talisman and use it immediately.

If you recall from a previous chapters, Lu Qingan gave Chu Yu a bunch of pills and talismans. I’m guessing they aren’t cheap.

That is the type of talismans that are used in Xianxia.

Of course, there are other types of talismans that are used even in real life. For example, have you ever seen this type (image below)?

That is a talisman/amulet that is believed to protect a person from the “evil eye.” In other words, it’s a protective charm. I think it looks very decorative. 🙂

Thanks for reading.

Hand Seals

I hope that everyone is familiar with hand seals? You know how Xianxia illustrations often have cultivators in cool poses? Like this:

hand seal

Above is from the cover of Five Color Paragon (I Shall Seal the Heavens #4) by Er Gen (author) and Deathblade (translator). Look at his hand, he is forming a hand seal right there.

Also, hand seals were used a lot in the Naruto manga and anime. There was even a guide to hand seals in the first Naruto fan book. Check it out:

Cultivators use the hand seals to activate their skills. Think of it like a wizard waving his wand.

From what I understand, the hand seals are based on the concept of mudra which are symbolic or ritual gestures in Hinduism and Buddhism.

In fact, while it may seem like something esoteric, mudras are commonly used in real life. For example, here is a picture of Aishwarya Rai making an Añjali Mudrā/ namaste gesture.

I’m pretty sure she is just saying namaste and not, you know, using a powerful Qi technique.

Chapter 19 – Every Day the Protagonist Wants to Confess to Me

Chapter 19 <— click on the link to read it. I posted this in a rush. If you spot any errors, please do leave a comment to let me know so I can fix it. Thanks to the anonymous donors.

Do you like manga?

If you do, check out my most recent scanlation, Bokura No Meikyu!

I just released chapter 3 today.

If you haven’t read it yet then you can start by reading chapter 1.

Also, if you can translate Japanese, why don’t you translate the next chapter for BC Novels? No requirements or prior experience needed and the minimum is just one chapter a month. The chapters are only four panels per page, around 15 pages per chapter. It’s not a ton of translation needed.

I hope someone will come forward and offer to translate it soon.

Here is a sample page (small size):

bokura no meikyu

That is the normal amount of text for a page.

Thank you for reading this and please leave a comment if you can. I love comments!
