About the human race in the novel, remember that they gave away “tolerance” in return for the gift of “learning.” Xiu is an orphan. At birth he looked human and he grew up in an orphanage with other humans. The problem is that Xiu is actually a “mixed blood” person which is highly frowned upon in human society.

Since humans in this setting are intolerant, that explains why practically every human in the continent was trying to kill Xiu. Now that Xiu has unlocked three forms (human, undead, and gnome), readers who forgot the characteristics of each race might want to go back to chapter one and reread. The racial shortcomings and unique skills will definitely play a part in the story.

In other news, I have decided to limit my use of footnotes. I’ve been using them a lot and I think I got addicted so I am cutting back. There will still be footnotes, just fewer than I have been using lately. I’m worried that they kinda make the reading experience a bit annoying. However, some people have told me that they like the footnotes. Therefore, I won’t be completely stopping my footnote spree completely.

Chapter 13 The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love (only one part, complete). The title of this chapter really made me excited when I read it the first time. Actually, even the second and third time was still exciting! It’s super good. This chapter and the next one are some of my favorites.

When I started reading, I fell in love with the MC because he is so relatable and funny. To me, the ML’s skeleton/ Lich undead form is very interesting. This is a first for BL romance, right? I’ve never read of a skeleton as one of the romantic leads in BL, lol. Then I read the “gnome form awakens” arc and it was just awesome! I hope everyone will love it as much as I did.

Remember, this quote from the first chapter?

“The Gnomes gave away their tranquility, received forging.”

From this, we already know that gnomes are experts at forging (crafting). Each race gave away something to receive their racial gifts. In the gnomes’ case, they gave away “tranquility” which means that they are …. angry? crazy? We’ll see. Let’s keep on reading!

Important news: Announcing a new project!  Every day the protagonist wants to capture me. I’ve started working on it and the first chapter is almost done. I will publish it in a few days. Fate/Stay Night Crossover

This was an extra in the manhua. Sadly, you won’t laugh unless you know Fate/Stay Night. Anyway, to explain: When Saber was summoned, she rose up from a magic circle, and said “I ask of you: Are you my master?” Saber was a magical Servant and the summoner became her master.

But in this manhua comic Du Ze said “I asked of you: Are you my Meng master?” The joke is that “Meng master” isn’t really a master, it’s just an idiom that means “really, super Meng.” Meng, of course, means “Moe” or cute/ adorable.

The reverse side of the continent

Now, about the pillar of light. Du Ze knows about it because he read it in “Mixed Blood” and Xiu read it in Louis’ Magic Codex.

It’s a magical place that allows people to go from the positive/top side of the continent to the reverse/bottom side. I hope that the picture above can help you visualize how it works.

In a previous chapter it was mentioned that Louis came from the other side of the continent, which means there are people (or at least undead) who are living in that place. Or maybe “unliving” if they are undead.

Male Yandere

Yandere (ヤンデレ) definition: it is a combination of two Japanese words. Yanderu (病んでる), means to be sick , or, n this case, meaning sick in the head, i.e. crazy. Deredere (デレデレ), means deeply in love or love-struck. Combine these two and we get someone who is “crazy in love” and violent. In fact, many male leads in Xianxia or Chinese fantasy web novels are pretty yandere. They are often that type that would kill for the one they love.

In most anime and manga, female yandere characters are common. In Chinese novels, yanderes of both sexes are common. Do you like to read stories with male yandere characters?

Some people have asked what is in the doujinshi. I can’t say because of spoilers! But the manhua has this image. It’s some horny – *cough* I mean horned guy and some other guy. Du Ze also said that it was hardcore yaoi so we know at least that much.

Guys, was it not clear in chapter 9? Xiu and Du Ze were only there for a few days. The three years was from the excerpt. All excerpts are from the original “Mixed Blood” novel. Please remember that this novel is “The Reader and Protagonist Definitely Have to Be in True Love.” The contents of the two do not always match.

Xiu is unable to trust people now

Just a few chapters ago Xiu was betrayed by his friends. Then everyone hunted him down. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Daniel, one of his closest friends, pretended to help him but sold him out.

When I was first reading this story, I was very annoyed when Xiu used our poor, cute, socially inept, poker-face Du Ze as a test subject. But don’t worry too much, even though the social barriers are high, Du Ze can still do something cool! And Xiu just needs to redeem himself.

This marks the second time that Du Ze tries to influence the story using the knowledge he got from reading the novel. Some of the readers have been asking when there will be another cute moment. Well, this story is actually very epic in scope. Right now we have only read of black powder fans and Xiu in the Lost Land. It might seem to some people like this is just the love story of Xiu and Du Ze. But please remember that the story of “Mixed Blood” is that of a hero who becomes god. I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that since that was said in chapter one. Du Ze  has also stated that it’s his goal.

Now that they have met, it’s time to go on a journey for Xiu to become stronger, just like Du Ze said in the last chapter. One of the most exciting scenes is coming soon. I’m stoked!
