A Guide to Raising Your Natural Enemy

If you like beastman BL/danmei, I can recommend A Guide to Raising Your Natural Enemy as a very cute and fluffy story. Don’t take it too seriously though, it’s a fun story. I read it a long time ago and I still remember the story.

As long as hamster spirit Shu Shu can survive the lightning tribulation, then his cultivation will be able to turn him into a human. In the end, the lightning tribulation strikes him and he arrives in the… future?

In order to avoid people and being mistaken for a monster, Shu Shu decides to dig a hole in the forest to hide and live, and as a result… a very big snake aaaahhhh! Please, don’t eat me!

The crown prince of the beast empire is seriously injured and becomes a beast that could no longer change into human form. He lives alone in the forest. One day, he sees a cute sub beastman deep in the forest. The sub beastman also sees him. At once, the sub beastman’s eyes roll backwards and he faints…. Scared to death?

Shu Shu: I have a unique technique of faking death.

Murderbot Novellas

If anyone’s looking for something new to read, the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells is definitely something to check out. It’s just a really cool series.

The main character is this security unit, a “SecUnit,” that just calls itself  Murderbot. It basically hacked its own control module because, honestly, all it wants to do is chill out and watch its shows. But, you know how it is with humans, they always get themselves into trouble. So, Murderbot ends up, kind of reluctantly, having to save them.

What makes it so good is totally Murderbot’s voice. It’s super sarcastic and surprisingly relatable, even though it’s this cyborg. It’s got this really dry sense of humor and it’s pretty awkward around people, which I think a lot of us can get. The books have tons of action, but they’re really about this AI figuring out what it means to be free, what it actually wants, and even how to care about others. It’s funny, smart, and even pretty touching sometimes. So yeah, if anyone needs a fun, engaging sci-fi read, definitely give this a shot.

I’ve only read the first two novella, but there is a TV show now, so I might watch that instead!

Pill Alchemy concept

Neidan, or internal alchemy, is a Taoist spiritual and physical discipline aimed at extending life and cultivating an enduring spiritual body. Also known as Jindan (“golden elixir”), the objective of this cultivation is to enhance overall well-being and ultimately re-establish a connection with the fundamental unity of the Tao, thereby achieving Taoist immortality.

The term “neidan” translates to “inner elixir/alchemy,” distinguishing it from waidan (external alchemy).

What sets Neidan apart from other traditional Chinese wellness practices is its distinct focus on transforming internal energies to realize an “elixir” that embodies the original state of existence.

Source: Wikipedia I’m simply summarizing what Wikipedia says.

This seems to be the basic concept behind making pills or elixirs in Xianxia/cultivation novels.

Chapter 5 – A High Risk Occupation

Well, it happened. I’ve got nothing to say. I think the problem is that I have had to post so many times yesterday and today! Usually, I have a bunch of stuff I want to write about. Today? It’s all gone. There’s just a big blank space where my ideas usually are. It’s not that I can’t write; it’s that I can’t think of anything to write.

So, this little post is just to let you know I’m still here, even if my brain decided to take a day off.

Thanks for reading!

Apart from the story summary, the author also has this to say:

Author’s Notes:

  • The pig’s foot1 comes with his own System. This story will not involve mpreg/childbirth.
  • My lifelong, untamed love is for the main shou.2
  • The protagonist transmigrates into a rebirth, revenge, and cultivation3 novel that he himself wrote.
  • The male lead (gong4) has a warped moral compass.5 Reader discretion is advised.
  • This is a goofy,6 lighthearted story. The plot isn’t meant to be taken seriously and is full of melodrama.7 Just read it for a good time. If you get serious, you lose!8
  • Regarding the gong’s name: This author9 is terrible at naming.10 The names for the gong and shou were chosen by rolling dice in a web game, and the other names were randomly selected using naming software. I (the author) didn’t put much thought into the names; it was all done on a whim~~~ If it really bothers you, just think of it as my malicious prank =U=. (I really did just pick them because I thought it was funny at the time.)

Another day, another chapter! Enjoy!

Yuri vs. Baihe

“Yuri” is the term that comes from Japan. It broadly covers all female same-sex romance in manga, anime, and light novels. Its roots trace back to the early 1970s. The word “yuri” itself means “lily” in Japanese, a flower often associated with purity and beauty, and in this context, female-female affection.

On the other side, “Baihe” is the Chinese equivalent. It specifically refers to female same-sex stories originating from China, typically in web novels, manhua (comics), and donghua (animation). “Baihe” also translates to “lily” in Chinese, showing that shared symbolic connection across cultures.

Summary

In my next life, I will absolutely never be an author again.

There’s a risk of being cursed to transmigrate into your own book.

When he broke out of his shell (?), the first thing he saw was the handsome male lead he had created.

The first time he heard the male lead’s voice was when the man pinched the soft scruff of his neck.

“A refund,” the male lead said to the man running the stall.

Pei Bufan: “…Meow?”

Okay, so the dark mode add-on to the website does seem to be lagging it, but I think it looks good. I will probably remove it in the future since the impact on the loading speed is too much. To the person who asked for dark mode, sorry! I tried!

In other news, updates have been daily so far, and we aim to keep it that way. *crosses fingers* Depending on how it goes, weekends might be non-update days, but perhaps some weekdays will be double chapter days to make up for it.

A graphic I found in Canva that looked cool
